RCMP say a local miner reported finding the camp last week.

It's located near mining claims, about 20 kilometres west of the Alaska Highway, in the Tatamagouche Creek area.

Police say a tent was set up, but it appeared undisturbed for about a week.

They found basic camping gear and a sleeping bag inside.

There was no indication whether the owners were going to return to the campsite.

Beaver Creek RCMP are asking for any information about the campsite, or campers who may have gone missing in the area.
