Search underway for missing boater on Lac La Martre

A search and rescue operation is underway nearWhati, N.W.T.,after a male boater was reported overdue.

A spokesperson with the Department of Defence says a boat was found on the shore of Lac La Martre with no one inside it.

A Twin Otter planehas been sent in from Yellowknife to help with the aerial search of the area.

N.W.T. RCMP say the Whati RCMP are involved in the searchand that they are in touch with the person's family.
