Sketch released of suspect in Yellowknife sexual assault case

Yellowknife RCMP have released a sketch and description of the suspectofa sexual assault that happened on Sissons Court Wednesday.

The suspect is described as male, 6-feet tall, 25-30 years old; with brown eyes, a medium build, light complexion and dark brown hair with a spiky Caesar-style cutshorter on the sides, longer and messy on top. He was wearing a solid black T-shirt and blue jeans.

At about 7 a.m. Wednesday near Sissons Court, the suspect entered a residence and sexually assaulted a woman, then fled the scene on foot.

Police are also investigating a second sexual assault that happened two hours earlier on the Frame Lake Trail near Somba K'e Park. In that incident, a man approached a woman from behind, sexually assaulted her and then fled on foot.

Both women received treatment at Stanton Territorial Hospital.
