Rankin Inlet man charged with manslaughter

Police in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have charged a man in the death of another man this past weekend.

Abraham Nakoolak has been charged in connection with the death of Donald James (D.J.) Gamble, 23, early Saturday morning.

Police did not disclose any further information about Nakoolak, including his age.

Police say they found Gamble on the steps outside a local residence around 2:30 a.m. CT. Gamble had reportedly been stabbed.

Gamble was taken to the Kivalliq Regional Health Centre, where he later died of his injuries, according to police.

An autopsy has been ordered by the Nunavut coroner's office. RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
