Man charged in fatal Rankin Inlet hit and run

A 32-year-old Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, man has been charged with second-degree murder after another man died following a hit and run over the weekend.

RCMP say Idlout Korgak has been charged with second-degree murder and failing to remain at the scene, in connection with the death of Paul Katalak in Rankin Inlet on Saturday.

Korgak has been in custody since he appeared before a justice of the peace in Rankin Inlet on Monday morning, police stated in a release.

A court date has not yet been set.
