Blast survivors come home

A Montreal couple who survived the nightclub blast in Bali returned to Montreal Thursday.

Joe Triassi and Sylvana Sciortino were in Bali on their honeymoon. Friends convinced them to visit the nightclub.

They had just gone to the washroom when the bomb exploded. They believe the concrete wall of the washroom saved them from serious injuries.

"It was very, very dark," said Sciortino. "The electricity came off and all the debris was just falling."

"It took me a minute to find her," said Triassi. "But that 40 seconds, you had to see. I mean, people were just running in front of me, injured, like, really bad injuries."

The couple are outraged to be in caught in what's believed to be a terrorist attack. They say the experience gives them a deeper sense of appreciation for family and friends.
