Yellowknife officials hold meeting on public safety

Reporters from CBC Yellowknife live tweeted the meeting about the six sexual assaults reported by RCMP in the past three months.

Yellowknifersconcerned about safety in their community got a chance to ask their questions Thursdaynight.

Officials from the Department of Justice, the RCMP, the City of Yellowknife and the Health Department helda public meetingat Northern United Place at Franklin Avenue and 54 Street startingat 7 p.m.

In the past three months, sixsexual assaults have been reported toRCMP in Yellowknife.The meeting was meant to provide an open discussion, whereYellowkniferscan raise questions and concerns about public safety in the city.
