Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of Nova Scotia.

From Tuesdaymorning to Wednesday morning, there will be prolonged periods of snow, rain and freezing rain throughout the province, which could particularly affect commuters on Tuesday morning.

Areas near the coast can expect rain, with a period of heavy rain on Tuesday, while inland areas of the province and the Annapolis Valley will receive prolonged periods of freezing rain or ice pellets, starting Monday nightinto Tuesday morning.

Higher than normal water levels combined with rough and pounding surf are expected along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia on Tuesday evening.

It is too soon to say how much of each precipitation will occur and when it will occur given uncertainty in the track of the system, Environment Canada says.
