Nail found in bag of potatoes bought from Bedford Superstore

Halifax Regional Police are investigating potential food tampering after a nail was found by a customer in a bag of potatoes in Bedford.

Police say the five-pound bag of potatoes was bought at the end of August

A nail has been found in a bag of potatoes bought from a Bedford grocery store, according to Halifax Regional Police.

Police say at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Bedford Superstore manager reported the nail. It hadbeen found by acustomer who'd bought afive-pound bag at the end of August.

The manager hasthe remaining potatoes, too.

Police say no injuries have been reported.

This is not the first potato tampering incident in the Halifax area.Anyone who finds foreign metalobjects in potatoes are asked to contact police and to not throw anything out.
