Nova Scotia prison assault being investigated by Halifax police

Halifax police are investigating an alleged assault at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility.

The assault occurred Monday around 9:54 p.m in the Burnside jail, police say. Itinvolved two male offenders, one of whomwasa 22-year-old man from Lunenburg County.

He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they anticipate charges being laid.
