Convergys call centre to close

A large call centre on the Millbrook First Nations reserve, near Truro, N.S., will close on Sept. 1.

CBC News has learned that Convergys which currently employs nearly 200 people at the Millbrook location will close because a client is pulling their business from that particular site.

"Convergys anticipates that some employees who meet the performance and home environment requirements will be able to transition to a work-at-home position, and we will work to determine how many employees will be able to take advantage of this opportunity," the company said in a statement.

"Employees in good standing also may pursue job openings at other Convergys locations."
