N.S. reports 77 new cases of COVID-19 over past 2 days

There have been 77 new cases of COVID-19 discovered in Nova Scotia since the last update on Wednesday.

Infectious disease expert Dr. Lisa Barrett says the provinces proof of vaccination policy, which comes into effect on Oct. 4, should help fight the fourth wave of Covid-19.

Nova Scotia reported 77 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, a figure that includescases discovered since the last update on Wednesday.

Eleven people are now in hospital with COVID-19,including fourin intensive care.

As of Friday's update, 75per cent of Nova Scotianswerefully vaccinated.

Labs processed 4,678COVID-19 tests on Thursdayand 4,625 on Wednesday.

Six schools in the province have been notified of an exposure since Wednesday's update. A list of school exposures is available online.

Atlantic Canada case numbers

  • New Brunswickreported one deathand 85new cases onFriday. The province has677 active cases and41people hospitalized, including 15in intensive care.
  • Newfoundland and Labradorreported two deaths and 41 new cases on Friday.The province has 180active cases, and sevenpeople are in hospital, including four in critical care.
  • Prince Edward Islandreported threenew cases on Friday. The province has 11 active cases.
