Nova Scotia reports 4 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday

Nova Scotia reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The sources have all been identified.

Nova Scotia reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the province's active case total to 32.

Two of the new cases are in the central health zone. One is related to travel outside the region and the other is a close contact of a previously reported case.

The two other cases are in the easternzone. Both related to travel outside the region.

All of the new cases are self-isolating, according to a media release from the province.

Acase that was erroneouslyreported on Friday as being in in the central health zone has been corrected to the western health zone, the release states.

Nova Scotia Health labs completed 2,352 COVID-19 tests on Friday.

Changes to vaccine eligibility

Premier Iain Rankin announced Thursday thatpeople age70 and older can now bookfor the Pfizer-BioNTechor Moderna vaccines.

New vaccine appointment times have been added for the weeks of April12 and April19.

Nova Scotiansbetween 55-59 will be eligible to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine with bookings starting April6. The vaccine is only available to ages 60-64 for now.

Flight exposure notices

Nova Scotia Health reported two new potential flight exposures on Saturday.

  • Air Canada flight 624, from Toronto on Sunday Mar. 28 (9:15 p.m.) arriving in Halifax on Mar. 29 (12:15 a.m.), Passengers in rows 18-24.Anyone exposed may develop symptoms throughApril 12.
  • Air Canada flight 604, from Toronto on Thursday Apr. 1 (7:50 a.m.) arriving in Halifax (10:50 a.m.), Passengers in rows 18-24.Anyone exposed may develop symptoms throughApril 15.

Atlantic Canada case numbers

  • New Brunswickreported ninenew cases on Saturday for a total of 153 known active cases. Fourteen people are in the hospital related to the virus, six in intensive care.
  • Newfoundland and Labradorreported one new caseon Thursday. The province hadfour known active cases.
  • P.E.I.reported one new caseon Thursday. There were 13known active cases on the Island.
