Three pedestrians and a cyclist were injured in four separate car collisions over the weekend. The pedestrians were all in crosswalks when they were hit, say Halifax Regional Police.

The latest collision happened at 5:40 p.m. Sunday evening when a20-year-old was in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Quinpool Road and Preston Street.

A car was turning onto Preston Street when police say the 20-year-old was struck. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 61-year-old woman who was driving the car was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The two other pedestrians were hit by cars on Saturday.

At around 6:00 p.m. Saturday a 32-year-old woman was struck by a car while running through a marked crosswalk on University Avenue.

The impact from the car threw the woman to the ground. Police say she had scrapes and bruises and was taken to hospital.

The police investigation is ongoing and so far no charges have been laid.

There was another collision about 40 minutes later at the intersection of Clifton Street and North Street.

A 28-year-old man was struck by a car while in the intersection's crosswalk.

Police say the man's ankle was broken and he was taken to hospital.

The 35-year-old woman who was driving the car was given a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

A cyclist was also struck by a car on Saturday, at around 5:19 p.m. police say a 25-year-old cyclist was hit at the intersection of Mumford Road and Olivet Street.

Police say the car's 56-year-old driver was pulling on to Mumford Road when she struck the cyclist.

The woman on the bicycle suffered an injury to her leg and was taken to hospital.

No charges have been laid and police say the incident is still under investigation.
