Dave Wilson's letter

Nova Scotia's Liberal MLA Dave Wilson tendered his resignation late Thursday afternoon.

Nova Scotia's Liberal MLA Dave Wilson tendered his resignation late Thursday afternoon.

On Fridaymorning, his office in Glace Bayemailed his full statement to members of the media:

March 12 immediate release

Yesterday I resigned as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Glace Bay and tendered my resignation with the Speaker of the House. My resignation is effective immediately.

I have also notified the Leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party that I am stepping down as the Member for Glace Bay. This also means that I am resigning my position as chair and member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Caucus.

I no longer feel that I can fulfill my duties and responsibilities as the Member of the Legislature Assembly for the Constituency of Glace Bay.

I would like to thank the people of Glace Bay for their support and for allowing me to serve as their representative for nearly 11 years.

I will not be making any further comments at this time and I would ask for your respect for my families privacy.

Respectfully,

Dave Wilson
