New details released in Daverico Downey homicide

On Tuesday, Nova ScotiaRCMPreleased a description of two vehicles fleeing North Preston in the Halifax Regional Municipalityshortly after the shots were fired. The 20-year-old, known to loved ones asDavie, was founddeadon April 23 in North Preston.

The first vehicle is described as a white car which was seen leaving the Alex Lane area. The second vehicle of interest is a dark-coloured SUV.

More witnesses needed

Cpl. Dal Hutchinson said the hope is thenew details will lead to more tips on the homicide.

"That is our intention of putting this out there, that someone somewhere knows information with regards to these two vehicles and what their roles [were]in this homicide or if they may in fact have witnessed what took place," said Hutchinson.

Police added the case to a reward program for major unsolved crimes earlier this year.Tips that lead to an arrest and convictioncould be worth up to $150,000.
