The case ofa Nova Scotia woman charged with murdering her 12-year-old daughter won't be back before the courts for another month becausethe woman's lawyer is still waiting tosee documents from the prosecution.

Lawyer Pat Atherton appeared in a Bridgewater courtroom Wednesday on behalf of his client, Penny Boudreau, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Karissa Boudreau.

The case was put off to Oct. 22 after Atherton told the court that disclosure hasn't been completed.

Outside court, Crown lawyer Denise Smith said statements have to be transcribed and electronic material is still being compiled.

Boudreau, 34, was not in court Wednesday.

When she made a brief court appearance in June, about 100 people waited outside the building, some booing and yelling names as she passed by.

Boudreau was charged in June, four months after Karissa's frozen body was found along the banks of the LaHave River near Bridgewater.

Karissa was reported missing on Jan. 27. Her mother told police the two had argued in a parking lot outside a Bridgewater grocery store, and the girl was gone when she returned to the car.

There were several aerial, ground and water searches of the area.

A passerby found Karissa's body on Feb. 9.
