Halifax based DHX Media Ltd. turns profit, sees revenue grow

DHX Media Ltd. says it turned a profit in its latest quarter compared with a loss a year ago, while revenue grew nearly 50 per cent.

DHX Media Ltd. says it turned aprofit in its latest quarter compared with a loss a year ago, whilerevenue grew nearly 50 per cent.

The producer of childand youthoriented TV programs says itearned $7.5 million or six cents per share in its most recentquarter.

That compared with a loss of $7.7 million or six cents per sharein the same quarter last year.

On an adjusted basis, the company says it earned $8.3 million orseven cents per share for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from anadjusted profit of $5.5 million or five cents per share a year ago.

Revenue in what was the first quarter of the company's financialyear totalled $63.9 million, up from $43.0 million.

DHX Media is the company behind brands including the Teletubbies,Yo Gabba Gabba!, Caillou, In the Night Garden, Inspector Gadget, andthe Degrassi franchise.
