Veith House also hasa lovely, comfy room where court-ordered supervised parents can meet with their children. They alsooffer trustee services for folks who need it.

History of Veith House

Several organizations rent office space there; Maureen Macdonald had her constituency office at Veith House for many years.

There is also a daycare that operates on the second floor and a memorial room for former residents of the orphanage, where there are photographs and other historical items.

Veith House was built in 1924 after the Protestant Orphanage was destroyed in the Halifax Explosion in 1917. It operated as an Orphanage until 1969, when it became a community centre/hub.
