Fenwick MacIntosh case yields legal complaint

The man who first brought forward complaints against Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh has filed a complaint about the handling of the matter.

A court order prevents DRS from being identified. He is complaining about the conduct of investigators Sgt Shelby Miller and Staff Sergeant Glen Shermerhorn of the Inverness detachment.

DRS says they failed to investigate federal Crown attorney Anne Turley for obstruction of justice. He believes Turley made mistakes that led to MacIntosh's passport being renewed twice while he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

The RCMP are looking into the complaint.

MacIntosh was eventuially convicted of sexually abusing DRS and three others. Those convictions were later overturned.

The Supreme Court of Canada will consider an appeal by the Crown later this year.
