Highway 125 rollover kills man, 79, in Cape Breton

A man from Victoria County in Cape Breton has died after his truck left Highway 125 near Balls Creek and rolled over in a ditch on Monday morning.

A man from Victoria County in Cape Breton has died after his truck left Highway 125 nearBalls Creek and rolled over in a ditch on Monday morning.

The accident happened around 8:15 a.m., said Nova Scotia RCMP.

The 79-year-old male driver of the Ford F-150 was taken to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries, said police. On Monday afternoon, police said the man had died.

A 78-year-old woman, who was also in the truck, was injured but is expected to recover. Both are from North River.

The cause of the accident has not been determined, said police.

It was raining heavily in the area at the time.
