HMCS Windsor returning to Halifax port after NATO exercises

HMCS Windsor is returning to Halifax port after participating in military exercises overseas, according to Department of National Defence statement released Wednesday.

HMCS Windsor is returning to Halifax port tomorrow afterparticipating in military exercises overseas, according to a Department of National Defence statement released Wednesday.

The submarine departed Halifax in the fall along withfive surface ships,the Athabaskan, Halifax,Montral, Goose BayandSummerside.

Windsorhad been taking part in Joint Warrior and Trident Juncture co-ordinated exercises with NATO allies to "enhance combat readiness" by training in "complex security scenarios."

The 48-member crew will be welcomed by family and friends when it docks at 1:30 p.m. at Jetty NC, located at the navy's Halifax dockyard.

HMCSMontral returned from training last month.
