New Waterford bust yields hydromorphone, cash

Cape Breton Regional Police Service and theRCMPJoint Force Drug Sections have seized "a substantialquantity" of hydromorphone and money after executingtwo search warrants at two homes in the New Waterford area Friday.

A 53-year-old man was charged withpossession for purpose of trafficking in hydromorphoneand dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and resisting arrest.

A 62-year old man was alsocharged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in in hydromorphone.

Police say the two men are brothers.

Both accusedare in custody at theCape Breton Correctional Centre and will appear in Sydney provincial court on Nov. 30.
