Laser aimed multiple times at aircraft flying over West Hants

Nova Scotia RCMP are turning to the public for help after multiple reports of a green laser being pointed at aircraftflying over West Hants in the early morning hours between Aug.16 and Aug. 23.

Nova Scotia RCMP are turning to the public for help after multiple reports of a green laser being aimed at aircraftflying over West Hants.

In a news release, police said they had received four separate reports of incidents in the early morning hours between Aug.16 and Aug. 23. The laser is believedto have been pointed from the Three Mile Plains and Windsor areas.

Aiming a laser at an aircraft is a criminal offence, police said. Anyoneconvicted of intentionally interfering with an aircraft by using a laser could face a fine of up to $100,000 and/or up to five years in prison.
