Police seize 2 kilograms of cocaine at Marine Atlantic

A 21-year-old Brantford, Ontario man will appear in Sydney Provincial Court Monday. He faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Cape Breton Regional Police arrested an Ontario man after seizing two kilograms of cocaine at Marine Atlantic in North Sydney, N.S. Saturday night. (CBC)

A tip from Marine Atlantic staff helped Cape Breton Regional Police seize two kilograms of cocaine on Saturday night in North Sydney.

Staff found a man with suspicious packages and reported the find to police around 10 p.m.

A 21-year-old man from Brantford, Ontario was arrested and taken to Cape Breton Regional Police Service lock up. He is expected to appear at Sydney Provincial Court Monday morning.

The man faces charges under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine.
