Landon Webb not permitted to return to Kings Rehab Centre if found

The mother of a missing 24-year-old man with a mental disability says he will not be permitted to return to the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre in Waterville, N.S.,if he is found.

Brenda Webb told CBC News the facility has not extendedthe stay of her son,Landon.

"If he is found he won't be able to go back there," she said.

Earlier this month the facility told the family it was discharging Landon because it is unable to care for their son, who also has epilepsy, heart disease, asthmaand language and anxiety disorders.

It extended his stay twice, but he was to be discharged today.

Webbfunctions at the level of a 10-to12-year-old, requiresaround-the-clock specialized care and has been declared incompetent by the courts. He last seen on Oct. 15.

RCMP subsequently issued a missing person notice for him.

"We have received email tips and a Twitter tip and we are following up," said RCMP Const.Mark Skinner.

Webb said her son is at risk because he's in the community unattended, something they've opposed, andbecause he is without his medication for epilepsy and anxiety.

Webb said the family is still talking with the Department of Community Services about an alternativeplace for Landon to live.
