Neon Dreams aims for breakthrough hit with Marching Bands

A Halifax-based electronic band is celebrating one million streams on Spotify as their new single climbs the radio charts, too.

Neon Dreams's Marching Bands (featuring Kardinal Offishall) has pushed the band on a cross-countrytour. The guys are visiting more than 40 radio stations, putting on six live performances and shooting two music videos.

"Coming from Halifax, the east coast, you got a bit of a more uphill battle because you're so far separated from everywhere else, but it just takes that extra strength to go and network in other cities," saidband member Corey Lerue.

Neon Dreams will showcase their music in front of representatives for every major label in Canada this Thursday in Toronto to keep the momentum building.

"It's kind of become the big finale of this whole trip," saidLerue.

Neon Dreams soon will releasetheir first EP, To You, and also will kick off a 15-date east coast tour beginning in Corner Brook, N.L.

"It's awesome. It's amazing, actually, and it's really hard to process because we're doing so much right now," Lerue said.

Neon Dreams is a top 10 finalist for the Allan Slaight Juno Master Class, which is Canada's premier development program for emerging artist.

The Halifax band also has music being played on popular reality shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and MTV's The Real World.
