Voyeurism charge laid in connection with videos made in clinic bathroom

New Glasgow Regional Police have identified all of the people in the recordings and a 41-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Pictou Dec. 5.

New Glasgow police have charged a 41-year-old man from New Glasgow with voyeurism after videos were uncovered showing people unaware they were being recordedin the staff washroom at theWestsideMedical Clinic.

Const. Ken MacDonald said police received a complaint about voyeurism nine months ago. The suspect was arrested at the centre Tuesday at approximately 10:20 a.m.

"What I can tell you is that the staff washroom wasn't accessible to thepublic,"MacDonaldsaid.

MacDonaldcould not say how many recordings there were orwhat device was used to make them.

"Our New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit, with assistance of theRCMPTechnological Crime Unit, seized computers and information,"MacDonaldsaid.

MacDonald said all the people in the videos have been identified.

The suspect has been released from custody on strict conditions and is scheduled to appear in provincial court in PictouDec. 5.
