No new cases of COVID-19 detected in N.S. for 2nd day in a row

Nova Scotia reported no new cases of COVID-19 for the second straight day. There are currently three known active cases in the province.

Nova Scotia has reported no new cases of COVID-19 for the second day in a row.

There are currently only three known active cases in the province.On Friday, the QEII Health Sciences Centre's microbiology lab completed 358 Nova Scotia tests.

To date, Nova Scotia has 54,685 negative test results, 1,064 positive COVID-19 cases, 998 resolved cases and 63 deaths.

Two people who previously tested positive for COVID-19 are still in hospital receiving treatment, although their cases are among the resolved.

On Friday, the Atlantic Canada bubble opened and allowedpeople in the regiontotravel within it without needing to self-isolate for 14 days. Like Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labradordid not have new casesto report on Saturday.

However, Prince Edward Island reported three new cases on Saturday.

One of the cases involved a man in his 20swho travelled back to P.E.I. from Nova Scotia on June 29. Island officials said he had contact with someone from the U.S. while he was in Nova Scotia.

In an email on Saturday, a spokesperson for the Nova Scotia governmentsaidofficials in Prince Edward Islandnotified themabout "a possible Nova Scotia connection to one of their new cases of COVID-19." Public health is looking into it.

  • Fever (chills, sweats).
  • Cough or worsening of a previous cough.
  • Sore throat.
  • Headache.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Muscle aches.
  • Sneezing.
  • Nasal congestion/runny nose.
  • Hoarse voice.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Unusual fatigue.
  • Loss of sense of smell or taste.
  • Red, purple or bluish lesions on the feet, toes or fingers that do not have a clear cause.
