Nova Scotia fuel prices drop 10 cents overnight

Regular gasoline now ranges from 172.3 cents per litre in the Halifax area to 176.7 cents per litre in Cape Breton.

Gas prices in Nova Scotiadropped by about 10 cents onSaturday.

Regulargasoline now ranges from 172.3 cents per litre in the Halifax area to 176.7 cents per litre in Cape Breton. Diesel prices also dropped,now rangingfrom 182.1 in Halifax to 186.4 in Cape Breton.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board announced Friday it would invoke the interrupter clause overnight, meaninga shift in gas prices byat least six to eight cents per litre.

On Friday,gas prices dropped by four cents a litre. Regular gas in the Halifax area was selling for 182.1 cents per litre and diesel was199.7 cents per litre. In Cape Breton, regular gas was sellingfor184.0 per litre and diesel was201.6 per litre.

Gas prices rose by about 30 cents per litre this month after the provincial regulator invoked the interrupter clause three times.
