The gardens may open by chance during winter if pathways are clear and safe for travelling.

The Halifax Public Gardens will closefor the 2016 season at dusk Saturday.

The municipality says the park may openduring the winter months provided pathways are clear and safe for travelling and staff are around to help with access.

The washrooms and the coffee shop on site will be closed until the park reopens again in Spring 2017.
