A Sea King helicopter had to make an emergency "precautionary landing" Tuesday in a cul-de-sac in Mineville, east of Dartmouth.

Lt.(N) Len Hickey says the helicopter was on a routine flight when the crew noticed a drop in hydraulic pressure in the flight control system at around 10:40 a.m.Tuesday.

Hickey says it was standard operating procedure for the crew to put down the chopper in the closest clear area, as soon as possible. The chopper landed safely and there were no injuries among the crew of four.

Hickey says a group of technicians from 12Wing Shearwater spent several hours repairing the chopper on scene and it was expected to fly back to the air basethis evening.
