Searchers conducted three dives on Sunday, but did not find the man who fell into the water Saturday evening.

The 41-year-old was fishing when his canoe overturned

RCMP divers have suspended their search for a man who fell into Spectacle Lake in East Chester until Monday morning. Searchers conducted three dives on Sunday, but did not find the man who fell into the water Saturday evening.

The RCMP say the man was fishing with ateenager when their canoe overturned.

The teen swam to shore safely, but the 41-year-old manhasn't been seen since.

Sgt. Paul Coughlin of the RCMP said they received the call for help from the teen around 7:30 p.m.

"We had fire departments from Blandford, Mahone Bay and searching the water area,"he said. "We had ground search and rescue searching the shoreline around the lake. It's kind of a small lake so it was something that was easy to do last night, so they covered the water's edge last night."

Coughlin said the men weren't wearing lifejackets although therewere some in the boat.

Coughlin said the divers did find some personal belongings on Sunday such as fishing rods from the boat. He said they plan to continue their search Monday morning.
