Sidney Crosby bringing Stanley Cup to Cole Harbour: What you need to know

Sidney Crosby is home with the Stanley Cup in tow and he's getting ready to show it off to hockey fans in the HRM.

Sidney Crosby is home with the Stanley Cup in tow and he's getting ready to show it off to hockey fans in the HRM.

The Stanley Cup parade is happeningrain or shine Saturday morning in Cole Harbour, N.S.

The parade startsat 10:30 a.m. at Pope John XXIII Church on Colby Drive and runs twokilometres down Cumberland Drive, toCole Harbour Road before hitting theForest Hills Parkway. Be sure to get there early to snag a good spot.

The parade is expect to last around 45 minutes. (HRM)

The parade will endat Cole Harbour Place and will befollowed by a question-and-answer session withCrosby, the Cup anda few special guest speakers. The event will be held outdoors and willrununtil 1p.m.

Cumberland Drive and Forest Hills Parkway will be closed in both directions during the parade and parking will be restricted on both sides of the parade route. RCMP will be posted at all major intersections in order to control traffic during the parade.

The municipality says the parade itself is expected to last around 45 minutes.

Halifax Transit is offering free shuttle buses from the Penhorn terminal and an overflow parking lot atMicMac Mall near the highwayto Cole Harbour Placeevery 10 minutes from 7:50 a.m. to 10 a.m. Return buses will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
