Man charged with attempted murder in downtown Halifax stabbings

Police say stabbings on Barrington Street in Halifax sent two men to hospital early Monday morning.

Police say neither victim has life-threatening injuries

A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following twostabbingsin downtown Halifax early Monday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say officers respondedto the 1200 block of Barrington Street roughly between South and Morris streets around4:10 a.m. AT on Monday.

When they got there, they found two men with stab wounds one with serious but not life-threatening injuries, and the other with non-life-threatening injuries.

The men were taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.

The suspect is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault. assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

He was due to appear in Halifax provincial court on Tuesday.
