Search for fisherman lost in Lake Charlotte

A search is underway for a man missing in a lake after an accident in Nova Scotia Friday.

A search is underway for a fishermanmissing in a Nova Scotia lake Friday.

Two men were in a 3.5-metre boat that capsized in Level Spot Lake off Lake Charlotte near Musquodoboit Harbour.

"One is missing," said Gary McCurdy, platoon chief with Halifax Fire Department.

"We've got three small boats down there from HRM fire.RCMP and EHS are on site as well."

The other man swam 200 metres to shore and alerted authorities at 12:15 p.m.

One boat is searching Lake Charlotte and the others the adjoining Level Spot Lake. Volunteer ground crews are searching the lake shore. Halifax police say the missing man is a 33-year-old fromthe Halifax Regional Municipality.

The boat has been recovered.It is not known if the men were wearing life jackets or other safety devices.
