Supermoon makes for wild tidal bore rafting on Shubenacadie

TheJuly 13 supermoon brought adventureseekers to ride the monstrous tidal bore on theShubenacadieRiver in Nova Scotia.

The moon combines a full moon with the satellite'sclosest approach to Earth,bringingbig tides, which means big waves for rafters.

This is actually the only place in the world you can tidal bore raft, said Michael Stratton, the owner and operator of Whitewater Adventures.

The Shubenacadie River,Nova Scotia's largest river, isa Class 5 rapid.
