Halifax taxi driver facing sexual assault charge

Halifax police say a taxi driver is facing a charge of sexual assault after an alleged Saturday morning incident.

Police said they were called around 2:50 a.m. by a20-year-old woman who saidshe'd been touched in a sexual manner and kissed by a driver without her permission.

Shortly after, police foundthe44-year-old male driveron Barrington Street.

Police said officers took the man into custody and he was releasedwithorders to appear in Halifax provincial court in September.

Police said the woman was not injured.
