Halifax Regional Police say they are receiving and investigating tips concerning the whereabouts of a Halifax student who went missing on Saturday.

Taylor Samson has been missing for four days. Const. Stacey Opalka said police are not able to confirm any new information from the tips until further investigation.

Samson, a 22-year-old Dalhousie physics student, was last seen on Saturday night after he left his home in the city's south end to go for a walk around 10:30 p.m.

Family and friends of Samson have travelled from his hometown of Amherst to Halifax.

They've been putting up posters around the city since Monday night, hoping to raise awareness about his disappearance.
