2 men charged after early Sunday shooting in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police have charged two men in relation to a shooting Sunday in Dartmouth that left a 27-year-old woman injured.

Halifax Regional Police have charged two men in relation to a shooting Sunday in Dartmouth that left a 27-year-old woman injured.

A37-year-old man faces 22 charges,includingone count of attempted murder, aggravated assaultand unauthorizeduse of a firearm.

A 24-year-old manfaces14 charges, includingaggravated assault andunauthorized use of a firearm.

Both men were scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court Monday.

Police responded to a report of a shooting in the Portland Street and Portland Hills Drive area of Dartmouth at around 5:30 a.m. AT on Sunday. They found an injured woman when they arrived.

Police said in a news release they do not believe the shooting was random.

Three men, aged25, 26and 28, were also arrested at the scene. Theywill appear in court at a later date to face charges in relation to the incident.
