Police arrest 2, investigate report of shot fired in Dartmouth

Police say two youths are in custody in connection with weapons-related offences after a woman reported a 'large bang' around Booth Street and Main Street in Dartmouth at around 4:20 a.m. today.

Halifax RegionalPolice say two youths are in custodyfor weapons-related offencesafter a Dartmouth resident reported hearing a "large bang" aroundBooth Street and Main Street early this morning.

Policeresponded to theweapons call at 4:21 a.m.They say officersarrested a17-year-oldin the backyard of a Kennedy Drive home five minutes later and then found a15-year-old inside a nearby home.

No one was injured. Police have not said if they seized a weapon.

Const.DianneWoodworthsays police arestill investigating what happened and whether the incident is connected to the shooting of Joseph DouglasCameron, who waskilledalong Mount Edward Road earlier this week.

Police say they don't believe it was a random act.
