1 dead, 5 injured in rollover near Sharbot Lake

One person is dead and five morehave been injuredin a single-vehicle rollover near Sharbot Lake, Ont., according to Ontario Provincial Police.

The collision happened Thursday just after noon on Burke Settlement Road north of the community, located about 120 kilometres southwest of Ottawa, according to Const. RobMartellof the Frontenac OPP.

The victims suffered injuries of varying degreesand were taken tohospitals in Kingstonand Perth,plusCHEO, the eastern Ontario's children'shospitalinOttawa.

One of the victims was airlifted from the scene.The OPP are not disclosing the age of those injuredat this point.

Collision reconstructionists remained at the scene as of mid-afternoon.Martell said the vehicle has been described as a passenger car.
