4 injured, 2 seriously, in western Quebec crash

A man and a woman in their 40s are in hospital with serious injuries after the Sunday afternoon crash in Papineauville, Que., while two children suffered minor injuries.

Two adults and two children were injured Sunday afternoon when their vehicle went off the road in Papineauville, Que., provincial police say.

The crash happened at around 1:15 p.m. on Highway 323, the Sret du Qubec(SQ) told Radio-Canada.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was headed southon the highway when he lost control and ended up in the ditch, the SQ said.

He and another passenger, a woman in her 40s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Two children in the back of the vehicle were also hurt in the crash, the SQ said, although their injuries were minor.

Collision investigators were still on the scene as of 4 p.m.

Papineauville is roughly 65 kilometres northeast of downtown Ottawa.
