Bail hearing for Ottawa terror suspect delayed

A man charged in an alleged terrorism plot will have to wait two weeks to find out if he will be freed on bail.

A man charged inan alleged terrorism plot will have to wait two weeks to find out ifhe will be freed on bail.

Khurram Syed Sher, 28, of London, Ont., is charged with conspiracy to commit a terror act.

Justice Louisette Girault reserved her decision on Thursday after a two-day bail hearing in Ottawa. The hearing is scheduled to resumeOct. 13.

Evidence presented at the hearing is subject to a publication ban.

One ofSher's co-accused made a brief court appearance by video link on Thursday. A bail hearing datefor Hiva Alizadeh, 30, has not yet been set.

The third suspect, Misbahuddin Ahmed, 26, was granted bailTuesday. He was released after his family agreed to post a $20,000 cash bail and put up $625,000 in bonds and sureties.

Sher, who has appeared on Canadian Idol, was born and raised in Montreal and speaksEnglish and French fluently. He is a graduate of the McGill University medical school and completed his pathology residency in June.
