A promise not to run opens up the race in Bay

Coun. Mark Taylor has kept his promise to not run again, and that leaves this ward wide open.

Bay ward has 45,548 people living in 21,262 homes.

Coun. Mark Taylor has kept his promise to not run again, and that leaves this ward wide open.

Taylor, first elected in 2010, had promised to only stay on as a councillor for two terms.

"I made that commitment to run for two terms ascouncillor, and I intend to keep that," Taylor said.

There are five candidates vying for the seat at the councillor table:

Candidates who did not provide a website when they registered do not have links to their campaigns.

Bay ward is diversewith a mix of incomes, and development is shaping up to be a big issue as older communities are revitalized.
