City of Gatineau issues boil-water advisory in Aylmer

The City of Gatineau has issued a boil-water advisory for approximately 10,000 users in the sector of Aylmer.

The City of Gatineauhas issueda boil-water advisory for approximately 10,000 users in the Aylmer sector Thursday afternoon.

The city said thenotice will remain in effect until lifted.Anyone in the affected area is asked toboil the water for one minute before consuming it.

The affected area, seen on the map below, is roughly east ofChemin Eardley and west of the GatineauGolf and Country Club and south of Boulevard des Allumettiresand north of Chemin d'Aylmer.

Once the boil-water advisory has been lifted, residents should open all cold water faucets and let the water run for one minute or until it becomes cold before using it, following the same procedure for fountains, and discard any ice that may have been made with the water while the advisory was in effect.

The city said in a news release it continues to monitor the quality of drinking water on a regular basis.
