Ottawa police escorted Cpl. Nathan Cirillo's body from the McEvoy Shields Funeral Home on Hunt Club Road to begin his journey home to Hamilton, Ont.

Ottawa police officers began escortingCirillo's body from the McEvoy Shields Funeral Home on Hunt Club Roadstarting at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
Ottawa firefighters hadtrucks and equipment on theFallowfieldand Hunt ClubHighway416 overpasses forCirillo'sprocession.
Ontario Provincial Police assumed control of the escort at Bankfield Road.
From there, Cirillo will be escorted to Hamilton along the Highway of Heroes.
