The CBC Street Talk team, along with Ottawa Morning's Hallie Cotnam, headed to Cumberland ward to ask voters: What would make your neighbourhood a better place to live?

From Sept. 22 to Oct. 23, CBC Ottawa will visit the 23 electoral wards in the city of Ottawa to get the inside track on the issues people are talking about on the eve of the upcoming municipal election.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14 the CBC Street Talk team were in Cumberland ward to meet with you, the voters, to ask: What would make your neighbourhood a better place to live?

The CBC Street Talk team was alsojoined by Hallie Cotnam, the host of CBC Radio'sOttawa Morning.

Cumberland is located in the far east end of Ottawa.

Stephen Blais, the incumbent, is facing a challenger in Marc Belisle, who is taking a leave of absence from his job at Para Transpo to run.

CBC Ottawa asked all the candidates running for city council to record a one-minute pitch and tell voters why they think they're the best candidate for their ward. The pitches below are from those who participated in this project.
