David Lojk pleads guilty to causing indignity to body of Deepak Beaudoin-Reichmann

An Ottawa man admitted to stuffing thebody of27-year-oldDeepakBeaudoin-Reichmanninto a duffle bag after he died of a drug overdose, and thendumping it in a creek south of Ottawalast October with the help of two friends.

David Lojk, 27,pleaded guilty to causing indignity to a human body in a Brockville courtroom on Monday afternoon. Two other men have beencharged in the case but those allegations have not been proven in court.

Beaudoin-Reichmannwas found dead on October 14, more than a week after being reported missing by his family in the Niagara Region.

Lojk was also initially charged withconspiracy to commit an indictable offence but the charge was stayed when he entered his plea. He also pleadedguilty to a drug trafficking and breach of conditions.He is expected to be sentenced in March.

Beaudoin-Reichman had spent months in drug rehabilitation facility in Grimsby, Ont., but came to Ottawa to visit friends after receiving an inheritance, court heard. Beaudoin-Reichmann overdosed on cocaine andoxycodone while partying with Lojk in an Ottawa apartment, according to an agreed statement of facts.

According to the statement of facts Lojk, with the help of two friends, drove the body to Kemptville Creek and dumped it there. Surveillance video played in court showed three men movingBeaudoin-Reichmann's body in a duffle bag.

Two other men, who cannot be named due to a publication ban,have also been charged with causing indignity to a human body andconspiracy to commit an indictable offence in the same case.

Prior to the arrests, Ontario Provincial Police asked for the public's help to find three men spotted travelling in ahalf-ton pickup truck near where the body was found, around County Road 20 and County Road 18 in North Grenville.

In late October, police searched an apartment on Lisgar Street in Ottawa and seized a white pick-up truck parked outside.
