Ottawa Fury FC head coach Marc Dos Santos might bebidding farewell to the North American Soccer League at the end of this year, but not without getting a nice going-away presentfirst.

Dos Santos, who led the Fury to a fall season title and followed that up witha 2-1 extra time victory over Minnesota United in last weekend's NASL semifinal game, was named coach of the year by the league Wednesday.

Dos Santos previously announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the 2015 season for a job with Major League Soccer.

"Marc has always demonstrated a strong level of focus and belief in his system, and he put together a group of players that you just expected to be successful," NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson said in a statement.

"He stayed on course and stayed true to his system and style of play, and the results started to come in a big way."

The Fury posted 22 wins, 18 losses and 17 draws during the Montreal native's two seasons at the club's helm. Management said in September that they had already started the search for DosSantos' replacement.

Dos Santos has one game left with the team, and one more chance to achieve soccer glory: The Fury take on the New York Cosmos in the NASL final on Sunday, Nov. 15. The game gets underway at 5 p.m. ET.
